Many Saegertown students enjoy riding their ATVs and dirt bikes, but a few have taken their love of riding to a whole new level. Earlier this year, junior Kole Schlosser and seventh grader Foxx Mook raced in the
motocross circuit Competition Riders of America (CRA). It runs from the

beginning of April to the end of October and includes riders from Ohio and Pennsylvania.  

Motocross is an extreme sport that involves skill, dedication, physical stamina, and mental determination. In this sport, you ride either a dirt bike or an ATV (all terrain vehicle), and compete against other riders of the same age or skill level. Schlosser rode a Kawasaki KXF 250 dirt bike and Foxx rode a YZ 85 dirt bike.

After waiting patiently throughout the season for the results, Schlosser took first place in both of his respective classes and Foxx took eighth place in Junior Mini Bike, against 84 other riders.

Schlosser, who has been riding for five years, will be going to college in a few years. He wants to continue riding but is uncertain if he can because of the academic demands of his future. Mook, however, said,  “I want to keep riding because it is fun and fast.”
