The PENNCREST Combined Outdoor Performance Ensemble competition season is quickly coming to a close. Members of PENNC.O.P.E. are anxiously preparing for the 2016 LMBA Championships on Oct. 29 at Veterans Stadium in Erie, Pa.
The Meadville Fall Classic on Oct. 15 featured thirteen local marching bands for both competition and exhibition shows. PENNC.O.P.E. received second place in class AA behind Northwestern with a score of 83.83. Their main competition, Northwestern, received a score of 85.28. However, both bands tied for the caption award in High Music for class AA. This loss has provided motivation to the students of PENNC.O.P.E. as they go through the final push in their practices of the season.
Their next performance on Oct. 22 was at Harbor Creek High School. This show featured thirteen marching bands with their competition and exhibition shows. The competition in class AA consisted of PENNCREST Combined Outdoor Performance Ensemble, Erie All-City, Union City, and Girard. In class AA, PENNC.O.P.E. took first place with a score of 83.88. They also received the high music, high visual, and high general effect caption awards in their class. This night ended as a huge success for the members of PENNC.O.P.E.
Senior Logan Krasa said, “It’s a happy/sad feeling, sad because I will never have the opportunity to be part of a group who acts like a family again, but happy because of all the memories.”
