On Dec. 20, the Saegertown High School Band, Chorus, and Chamber Singers will host their annual Christmas concert here in the auditorium at 7 p.m.
Members of the band and chorus programs, led by Mrs. Susan James, will be performing pieces they have been rehearsing since the beginning of the school year. “We want to show everyone how much work we’ve put into it,” sophomore Ashley Merritt said. She encourages her peers to come and support the musicians.
The performance will include a duet of the song “Silent Night” performed by seniors Olivia Hoffman and Lexie Vath and a piano solo performed by Ethan Ashbaugh. Some of the other songs include “Carol of the Star” by the junior high chorus, “Holiday Greetings” by the junior high band, “Prelude to Bethlehem” by the senior high chorus, and “Flourishing Noels” by the senior high band.
Through band and chorus combined, 121 students will participate in this concert. Sophomore Sam Shelenberger, who will appear in many of the musical numbers, said, “I am very excited to bring holiday joy to our audience.”
