PBIS celebration will be held during WINN period today. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is the school-wide program Saegertown uses to promote success for all students.
The activities for this afternoon will include four-square in half of the gym, a dance with music in the other half of the gym, and a chill zone in the auditorium where students can read or use electronic devices. Seniors who have met all the requirements can leave after sixth period for senior release.
Students who have missing assignments in more than two classes or are failing a class will not be able to participate in the celebration. Instead, they will attend an assigned workroom session to catch up on work they need to complete.
PBIS celebrations will continue once a month or at the end of each grading period during WINN time to encourage and support academic success for students. It is not yet decided how often the incentives will occur. Some of the celebrations already in the works for this year include a Thanksgiving activity and the annual Lip Sync.
