The season ended for the junior high football team with a final record of 0-9. Next year, coach Nicholas Copeland plans to gain more football knowledge and teach his players to be more competitive through adversity. 

On Oct. 24, the team faced Eisenhower. Despite a 30-8 loss, Coach Copeland saw many positives: “Porter Brooks scored his first ever touchdown, Bradin Butters was all over the field making big plays. Wyatt Burchill’s leadership at the quarterback position helped lead the team.” The following week, the Panthers scored 24 points in their final game of the season, losing to Union City 42-24. 

Copeland is optimistic about the future: “This season we didn’t get the win or loss record we wanted, but the guys never quit and kept fighting till the very end. Seeing the work ethic and determination of this team, I know that the future is bright as long as they stick together.”
