Today was the first official day of the school being shut down, and already students are trying to find ways to keep themselves busy. Some are going for hikes, some are working on old projects that they never completed, but junior Haiku Peters decided to create a journal to document the shutdown.
“I’m calling it ‘The Corona Journal: An authentic time capsule into the coronavirus pandemic,’” Peters said. “It might seem dumb, but I think it’s fun. It gives me something to do.”
Her journal is filled with everything from pictures of bare shelves at Walmart to memes that have been spreading faster than the virus. She plans to continue her journal throughout the rest of the pandemic so she can share it with people in the future.
“It’s just me documenting what’s happening for future generations,” Peters said. “We’re making history.”
