This year’s prom is a senior prom. Only seniors are invited, and each senior may take one guest.
This announcement was made by Principal Tom Baker during a meeting today with seniors and juniors. Baker also discussed graduation details. Plans for both this year’s prom and graduation are subject to change, Baker said, since administration will soon meet to discuss it further.
Prom is May 15 and is scheduled to last three hours. Those three hours will include a meal catered by Nutrition Inc. plus a dance. The prom’s start time is yet to be determined, though the theme is set as the 1980s.
Though prom’s location has yet to be finalized, the event must be held on campus due to district policy. Masks must be worn by everyone when they are not social distancing or eating.
Seniors will be allowed to take one guest. Juniors may only attend if they are the guest of a senior. Additionally, a senior may invite a guest from another school as long as he or she is younger than 21 and at least a junior. No sophomores or freshmen will be permitted to attend.
According to Baker, an in-person graduation is scheduled for June 10. Further details are unavailable at this time. The Panther Press will continue to provide updates as more information is released.
