Saegertown has limited options for eating out, but a new choice was recently added: the Traveler’s Cafe. The new cafe is open six days a week, and it offers breakfast and lunch.
“I have always wanted a coffee shop from the early ‘90s, and when the opportunity arose we jumped at it,” said Tabitha Myers, owner of the Traveler’s Cafe and co-owner of Myers Sportsman Connection.
This dream finally became a reality. Myers serves travel-themed foods, like “The Compass” or “The Atlas.” There is both breakfast and lunch served. Myers has also brought something rare to our area, boba tea.
“Years ago, we lived out west, in New Mexico, and boba teas were huge out there,” Myers said. “So since they aren’t easily found around here, we definitely wanted to bring that here, because they’re just fun.”
As they expand, they hope to make a lot more foods that are exotic by blending exotic spices into foods they already have.
Myers hopes to open for dinner as well, but she needs more employees first.
“We are hoping to be open for dinner by April. Our biggest thing right now is just finding people to work,” Myers said. To apply, you can call (814)763-2111 or you can just stop in at address 167 Main Street Suite 102 and ask for an application.
“I also look at this as part of my mission in life, to provide a safe working environment for people, a place where young people can hang out,” Myers said. “I just want to continue to grow so that we can support the community and do things within the community.”
