The Saegertown Panthers Trap Team held their second annual Reverse Raffle on Feb. 26 at Active Aging in Meadville. The Reverse Raffle is the main fundraiser that funds the team for the season.
Saegertown Trap Team, also known as the Saegertown Area Jr. Clay League, shoots at the Saegertown Sportsmen’s Club for a Spring and Fall League. The head coach is Doug Jordan, and the members range from fifth graders to seniors. There are five seniors on the team including Dominic Delizio, Hunter Frazier, Drew Hunter, Ryland Lutz, and Josh Perrine.
This year the team has 43 members: 24 competition members and 19 recreational members. The competition members will be able to shoot at states in Elysburg, Pa. on June 5. They are also able to compete nationally on July 6-10 in Mason, Michigan.
According to secretary Larissa Lutz, an abundance of food for the raffle was provided by Mr. Woody’s BBQ, resulting in a donation to St. James Haven. “Those at St. James Haven were amazed at the amount of food we were able to donate to them,” Lutz said. “And thankful that it came at the perfect time as they were in need of food.”
