Policy 618 discusses student activity funds and accounting, fundraising, and guidelines regarding extracurricular activities.
The purpose of Policy 618 is stated as such: “To establish policy for all PENNCREST School District student activities funds and accounts as follows.”
Under the Guidelines section of this document, a large quantity of material was removed such as “The Board of School Directors will adopt and enforce reasonable rules and regulations for district extracurricular activities.” This section was revised to state that the district’s extracurricular activities will be in compliance with district policies which will be enforced by the principal.
In addition, under the Guidelines section, the Board scrapped: “Faculty advisors will work with students on specific activities as defined in the extracurricular activity’s constitution. Each faculty advisor will have overall responsibility for his/her organization and will comply with all policies and protocols.”
The Board also took notice to clarify who can sponsor student activity funds. “Participation in the decision-making process regarding the raising and expenditure of student activity funds is sponsored by the students and is mandatory”, “sponsored by the students and is” being the insert.
Under the student activities section, the general rules were modified to state that “all extracurricular activities shall comply with policy 122.”
Policy 618 was originally adopted on Nov 8, 2001.
