The beginning of the 2019-2020 season for the PENNCREST bowling team has started off on a good note. After six matches, the PENNCREST A team is leading the Ven-Craw standings by a total of eight points, and they’ve won four of those matches.
There will be four more matches after the new year before the playoffs begin. With this opportunity, the PENNCREST B team has the chance to earn a spot in the playoffs as they currently sit in 6th place in the standings. The top eight teams after ten matches will earn a berth in the playoffs.
Leading the PENNCREST team are seniors Nick Archacki (SHS), Issac Heim (MHS), Julia Kingsley (CSHS), Callum York (CSHS), and Jasmine Walker (CSHS). The squad has three members who are ranked in the top 15 in the individual standings thus far. Those bowlers include Nick Archacki (1st), Issac Heim (6th), and Michael McElhinny (14th), respectively.
Archacki, who leads the individual standings with an average score of 224.25 per game, is a six-time reigning Ven-Craw high average award winner. Archacki’s current average is 24.85 pins more than his next closest opponent, who has an average of 199.40.
The next Ven-Craw match will take place at Buffalo Street Lanes in Franklin on Jan. 4 at 3:30 p.m. If you’d like to take a nice Saturday drive to see downtown Franklin, make sure to stop by and watch the match to see some intense action on the lanes.
