Then it was later known as the National League or the NL. There are 30 teams in the MLB, 15 teams in the American League (AL), and 15 teams in the National League (NL).

Following behind them are the Tampa Bay Rays, with a 5-5 record and a three-game winning streak. In the central division, the Cleveland Guardians are holding the first position with a 6-5 record and a one-game losing streak. Second in the central division is the Kansas City Royals with a 5-5 record and a one-game winning streak. In the West Division, the Astros are tied with the Angels with a 6-5 record. The Angels are on a 3-game winning streak, hoping to get that one seed spot. The Astros are holding with a one-game losing streak, hoping to fight back.

In the National League on April 7, 2026, in the east, the Marlins and the New York Mets and also the Phillies are tied with a 6-4 record. The Marlins have a one-game losing streak, hoping to not fall back behind. The New York Mets are holding a three-game winning streak and want to keep growing that streak. The Phillies, with a one-game winning streak, want to keep that streak going. Now in the central division the Brewers are in first place with an outstanding record of 8-2, hoping to hold this first-seed position with a two-game winning streak. The Reds are in second place with a 7-3 record, hoping to grow this record with a four-game winning streak. In the west, the LA Dodgers are in first with an 8-2 record and a four-game winning streak. Second in the West are the Diamondbacks with a 5-5 record and a two-game winning streak.
