On Feb. 2, Saegertown’s PBIS team is hosting a field trip to Play Port for students who are passing all of their classes and have no illegal absences. The PBIS team consists of the full staff of Saegertown; however, their core members include Miss Kravec, Mr. Greco, Ms. Adams, Mrs. Mook, Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Granat, Dr. Howick, and Mr. Young.
“The PBIS Core team met and then had a survey sent out to students earlier this year. Play Port was overwhelmingly chosen,” Mr. Greco said. “It will be a great couple of hours to relax, have fun, play video games, indoor mini golf, and just celebrate achievements for the first semester.”
What is Play Port? Play Port is an 80’s and 90’s themed arcade located in Erie. “We offer over 100 video arcade games set on Free Play and are constantly adding and changing games to keep it interesting,” Play Port’s official website said. “Most games are retro, bringing back some old memories and sharing them with the new generation. Show your kids what you grew up on and let them share in your experiences what you played as a kid! Some things never get old, they get better!”
Students at Saegertown are excited about this trip. “Sounds very exciting,” eighth grader Alexander Coscia said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
The team also manages the blue “PRIDE tickets” that students can receive for good behavior around the school building and the raffles that follow.
“We would like to do a second-semester incentive field trip,” Miss Kravec said. “We will also have more raffle baskets for the students to enter when they receive a Panther PRIDE ticket.”
